ABOUT

About me

Art is as much an appreciation of the world’s beauty as it is a reminder to go out and experience it. I’m primarily a plein air painter and have a keen interest in historical architecture, practices of the past and old cultural landscapes. I’m especially fascinated by the crooked half timber houses of germany, the undulating pastoral landscape of my home province and the various old churches of Europe. Every now and then I indulge in a portrait!
Some of my biggest inspirations are Peder Mørk Mønsted, Karl Weyßer and Bertha Wegmann.

Artistic Background

I began as a game art student in high school, and had my eyes set on concept art. After my three years in game dev university later on, I decided to take the classical realistic route through the Swedish Academy of Realist Art (SARA) in southern Sweden. Here I spent three years laying the foundation for realistic drawing and painting, a style I have come to love and admire. The classical setting of SARA solidified my interest in the old and historical, as well as the value of aesthetics and beauty. After my graduation I turned my eyes from the still lifes and figurative arts to landscape painting and plein air. I now take on commissions for landscape, urban and architectural paintings and have hosted lectures on composition.
